TMIRCE Track Winter Wrap-up
[Wednesday] February 27, 2013
BOSTON- Since December 22nd – the longest, darkest night of the year, TMIRCE has continued to show up under the stars and in the cold, sometimes the rain to better ourselves at being awesome runners at the McCurdy Track at Harvard Coliseum. Last night was no different as we scampered around the almost snow-free loop. The workout, 4 Sets of 4 x 300m with a one minute rest between intervals and a three minute rest between sets. It was colder and windier then any of us anticipated, and the 15 TMIRCE’ers who showed up, including Norwegian speed demon Stein Ove Erikstad, pushed ourselves to complete the deceivingly challenging workout.
If you’ve never been to a track workout and you think you have what it takes to keep up with Stein, or want to witness his gazelle-like gallop, you only have a few more months to test your mettle before he leaves us for his mother country. Next week we’ll run The Shawgo, which includes a chance to record your best mile time. This is the best time of year to meet new friends, push yourself a little, and drink some beers with nice people afterwards at Stone Hearth Pizza. All abilities welcome and be ready to do something silly before we start.
[Friday March, 1] First Friday Happy Hour: Lower Depths | Come on out and meet the lovely people of TMIRCE. It’s ok if it’s your first time, we don’t bite.
[Saturday March, 2] Saturday bRUNch | I heard this Saturday is going to be the #BestRunEver. Bring a brunch item to share with the crew, bring a friend for bonus points.
